Biology : Terrestrial slender herb 7-32 cm tall, glabrous; tubers ellipsoid, 0,6-3,5x0,5-1,4 cm; stem leafy; leaves 4-6, spread, lowermost 1-2 sheath-like, the next 2-3 borne near stem base, lanceolate, spreading, 2,5-7x1-3 cm, uppermost bract-like; inflorescence cylindrical, 2,5-13x2,5-3 cm, laxly 3-25-flowered; flowers pale pink-lilac or nearly white, spreading; bracts erect, lanceolate, 6-20 mm long; ovary curved, 8-11 mm long; tepals spreading forwards or decurved; dorsal sepal oblanceolate, 7-10x1-2 mm; laterals slightly shorter and wider; petals similar but smaller; lip very concave, hooded, 7-9x5-6 mm, apex recurved, mouth wide; spurs slender, 5-8 mm long, tapering, arched over ovary.
Ecology : Brachystegia woodland, high rainfall woodland; grassland; usually on rocky outcrops or amongst rocks; seepage slopes; 1600-2400 m alt.
