Biology : Terrestrial herb 20-35 cm tall; tubers ellipsoid, 1,5-3x0,8-1,5 cm; sterile shoot to 7 cm tall, 2-5-leaved, the lower 1-3 leaves sheath-like, the upper 1-2 ± lanceolate, to 15x2,6 cm; fertile shoot covered with sheath-like leaves, these elliptic-lanceolate, 4-19x1,6-3 cm; inflorescence cylindrical, 4,5-15x2 cm, densely many-flowered; flowers dull reddish-green or green tinged with red-brown; bracts lanceolate, 12-24x3-6 mm, reflexed; ovary 7-9 mm long, papillose; dorsal sepal oblong, similar to petals, c. 2x1 mm; laterals shorter, narrower than dorsal one; lip hooded, 6x4 mm, apex reflexed; spurs 11-14 mm long, parallel to ovary.
Ecology : Grassland in scrubby vegetation, on slopes; 2000-3200 m alt.
