Biology : Plant much-branched, rounded and rather bushy, probably a stiff, yellow branches, branches slender and wiry; older cortex brownish-yellow and at the base frequently purplish.

Ecology : Commonly in deep red sand; also on black clay, micaschist, lime, basalt and granite; flats, bushland, eroded grassland, open Mopane woodland, eroded areas and along roadsides; 550-1100 m alt.
