Biology : Described as similar to S. paludosum; stem with 4-8 leaves, the upper ones sheath-like; inflorescence cylindrical, dense-flowered; bracts lanceolate, acuminate, longer than flowers, reflexed at anthesis; lip slipper-shaped, arched in the middle; spur absent (thus resembling the S. African S. muticum Lindl.).
Ecology : Ecology unknown.
  Imperfectly known species. Known only from the type (von Mechow 234 B). Considered a synonym of S. paludosum by Olszewski (2004: 29).
