Ce support a été confectionné dans un village du Chablais où Georges Amoudruz affirme avoir vu « les plus beaux pieds-de-quenouille » portant « des motifs décoratifs inspirés de l'architecture des églises : colonnes torsadées et arcatures, ainsi que le coq stylisé qui rappelle celui du clocher". Il avait été offert en « présent d'amour » à une fiancée de la famille Vuillez, chez laquelle Amoudruz fera plusieurs achats.

From field to museum
Taking objects out of their original context and exhibiting them in a museum gives them a new meaning. They used to be utilitarian or religious, status symbols or hunting weapons and they become storytellers with a new aim, that of giving museum goers access to knowledge of ethnic groups living elsewhere and otherwise.
